About Wilmslow Phoenix
Wilmslow Phoenix Sports Club (WPSC or Phoenix) is a multi sports club founded in 1975 and situated in the village of Styal serving the Wilmslow, North Cheshire & South Manchester community.
The clubhouse and 17 acres of playing fields are in the green belt opposite the entrance to the National Trust Quarry Bank Mill & Styal Country Park and the site is accessed from Styal Road (B5166) between Wilmslow and Manchester International Airport.
The “Phoenix” is home to Wilmslow Hockey Club, Wilmslow Lacrosse Club, Wilmslow Phoenix Astroturf Ltd, Lindow Cricket Club, Wilmslow Sports Junior Football Club and Styal Running Club.
The site includes a floodlit artificial pitch, lacrosse pitches, football pitches, cricket square and training nets, fitness trail and associated facilities.
The artificial pitch was relaid in 2019 and has a 75 seater spectator stand and LED floodlighting. The pitch accommodates a variety of sports including hockey, lacrosse, football and fitness training and is regularly used by local schools and colleges as well as local companies, sports clubs and societies. The artificial pitch is available for private hire to members and non members at attractive rates.
The clubhouse has a fully licensed bar, a full catering kitchen and can accommodate parties of up to 80 persons. The social area is available for birthday parties, christenings, conferences, fundraising events, private hire, etc by members and non members alike.
There are 4 new changing rooms with showering facilities plus 2 officials changing rooms with private showers. The clubhouse is fully accessible for disabled persons and includes full disabled & baby changing facilities.
There is a surfaced car park adjoining for 100 + cars and an overflow car park for 25+ cars.
